Tolgyesi Garners NE-10 Special Teams Player of the Week Accolades

MANSFIELD, Mass. (Oct. 31, 2016) - For the third time in 2016, LIU Post sophomore kicker/punter Joey Tolgyesi (Miami, Fla.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Tolgyesi, who also earned the honor on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, punted six times for 342 yards in Saturday's 35-17 victory against Pace. He averaged 36.7 yards per boot and pinned the Setters inside their own 20-yard line three times in the win.

In addition, Tolgyesi held Pace without a single punt return and surrendered only one touchback.

Tolgyesi is averaging 36.8 yards per punt this season on 42 attempts, with 13 of those kicks (30.9 percent) landing inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Tolgyesi and the Pioneers wrap up the 2016 regular season Saturday (Nov. 5), when they travel to North Andover for a 1 p.m. opening kickoff at NE-10 rival Merrimack College.
