CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 14, 2016) - LIU Post softball freshman pitcher Hannah Olshevski (Robbinsville, N.J.) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, as revealed Monday by the league office.

Olshevski got out to a torrid start in her rookie campaign, posting a 4-1 record last week with a 1.40 earned-run average. She also held opponents to a stingy .221 batting average against.

Furthermore, Olshevski, whose four wins occurred against regional opponents, tossed her first collegiate shutout last Thursday (Mar. 10) in a 1-0 win over Assumption College. She scattered just six hits and one walk, while striking out a pair, in her seven innings of work.

Olshevski and the Pioneers return to the diamond Thursday (Mar. 17), when they face Adelphi University in a non-conference doubleheader at 1:30 p.m. in Garden City.
