Equestrian Earns Reserve High Point Team at Stony Brook Show

SELDEN, N.Y. - The LIU Post Equestrian team earned reserve high point team of the day today after a tough day of competing only three points behind Stonybrook.

However, the team earned four more spots at regionals for individual riders. Alexandra Blach placed first in her walk/trot/canter class earning her spot. Blach will now be competing in her first fences classes of her collegiate career starting into novice flat and novice fences. Monica Moscoso finished as the top rider in novice flat and sixth in novice fences securing her place. Lastly, Chloe Hoerner finished first overall in intermediate fences and joining the rest of the teams qualified riders.
 
Freshman, Ava Greenbaum started the day strong with her second-place finish in both her fences and flat class.  Jessica Sulkers and Mallory Slack both finished second in open flat. Slack also finished third overall in her fences class. Alex Daskam and Patricia Hession secured second-place finishes in intermediate fences. Daskam also earned first place in her flat class.
 
The Pioneer novice division continued to dominate with Nicolette Signorelli and Angela Sikes earning second over fences and Gianna Perry and Cara Sappelsa earning third. Sappelsa also earned first on the flat with Perry earning second. Freshman, Hedda Walltott earned her first top finish of her collegiate career in novice flat.
 
Transfer student, Danielle Testagrose, kicked off her collegiate career earning first place for the team in walk/trot/canter.
 
The Pioneers will be back competing next Sunday, October 22nd at Country Farms hosted by Hofstra University.
