Women's Tennis Drops 6-3 Match to Queens College
Brookville, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 ECC Conference game at the hands of Queens College on Saturday afternoon at the LIU Post Tennis Courts in Brookville, N.Y. With the win, the Pioneers improve to 7-2 (4-1 ECC).
The tandem of
Charlotte Hynes and
Christina Jud dropped their doubles match at the third court by the score of 8-3, however, the team of
Stanislava Klymova and
Shanice Arthur knotted the game, 1-1, winning their match 8-6.
Lara Scholtze and Veronkia Koudelkova outlasted their opponents 9-8 to take the 2-1 advantage over the Knights.
Jud dropped her match 6-1, 6-1, in the sixth court and Koudelkova came up on top 6-2, 6-2 in her fourth-court matchup.
Up 3-2, the Knights tied the match once more with winning their third court match 6-0, 6-2. Tied 3-3, Queens jumped ahead of the Pioneers after Louisa Brunetti got the best of Arthur 6-2, 6-3 in the second court. Hynes took her opponent to a tie breaker in the first set but dropped her match 7-6, 6-2. Queens sealed the 6-3 win after Reehan Rashad defeated Scholtze 2-6, 7-6, 10-6.
The Pioneers travels to take on ECC opponent Roberts Wesleyan on Friday October, 20 at 4 p.m.
