Women's Tennis Set to Face NYIT in ECC Semis on Friday

Brookville, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's tennis team enters Friday's East Coast Conference Championship as the #2 seed, looking to claim the program's first conference title a year after falling to Queens College in the 2016 semifinal.
The Pioneers will face #3 NYIT in the semifinal on Friday afternoon, a side where they won back on October 7.
LIU Post is led by junior
Shanice Arthur who went 8-2 in singles play this year and went 9-1 in doubles when paired with classmate
Stanislava Klymova. Arthur, who received Player of the Week honors this season, leads the team in both single and double wins.
ECC First-Team All-Conference member
Lara Scholtze collected a team second-best seven singles victories, compiling a 7-2 mark on the year, all at first singles, and a 5-1 record in conference. Additionally, the Bad Homburg, Germany native posted an 8-2 doubled record, having won six singles matched with partner
Veronika Koudelkova.
Klymova will be at the number three singles court for the semifinals of the Championship. Klymova has played in all 10 games for LIU Post and holds a 4-5 record in singles play with a 4-3 mark in conference.
Koudelkova has been the Pioneers' key player at the fourth singles court, boasting a 7-1 record in singles competition this year and a 6-2 doubles record.
Christina Jud looks to make an impact in the playoffs this championship and will most likely take the sixth singles court. Jud, who compiled a 2-2 record this season sealed the win for the Pioneers over NYIT with a 6-3, 6-1 victory back on October 7.
LIU Post and NYIT met back on Oct. 7, with the Pioneers claiming the upper hand winning the match 5-4. Jud accounted for LIU Post's two points in the win and claimed the decisive fifth point to outlast the Bears 5-4.
