Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Bentley for Third-Straight Victory

Waltham, Mass. – The LIU Post women's volleyball team earned its third-straight victory on Sunday afternoon with a three-game sweep over non-conference rival Bentley University inside the Dana Center.
With the win, the Pioneers move to 24-4 on the year as the Falcons slip to 16-8.
A 4-1 run at the end of the first set saw the guests onto a 25-14 victory in the match's opening frame, and they'd maintain momentum early in the second, building a 7-5 advantage.
Bentley would later pull ahead 14-10, but a 4-0 run by the Pioneers brought the game to a 14-14 tie. In the end, it would be LIU Post that tallied four of the last five points as the Pioneers earned a 25-22 win to go up 2-0 in the match.
Down for much of the third, the Falcons held a four-point advantage (20-16) in the later stages of the frame but used a 9-3 run to clinch the set (25-23) and the sweep (3-0).
LIU Post's attack was led by Danielle Valenza, who collected a game-best 14 kills. Kristin Bendy contributed with 12 kills and Kassie Akouri-Tejedor contributed with 25 assists.
