BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - A pair of second-half goals by forwards Gabrielle Clark (Edmonds, Wash.) and Julia Duffy (Oceanside, N.Y.) lifted the sixth-ranked LIU Post women's soccer team over East Coast Conference-foe Molloy on Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Soccer Park.

Despite outshooting the Lions 13-2 in the first half, the Pioneers (9-1, 3-0 ECC) trailed Molloy (4-4-1, 2-1 ECC) by one heading into the intermission.

The second stanza looked to be more of the same until the 70th minute when the green and gold ended the shutout as Clark shot from the top of the 18 and finished in the top right corner of the goal.

Fifteen minutes later, Duffy sent home the game-winner.

Over the final 15 minutes of action, Molloy would muster just one more shot (with six seconds remaining), but it was to no avail as LIU Post secured the 2-1 victory.

Overall, the Pioneers outshot the Lions 20-5, including 11-3 on goal.  The home squad also held a 7-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Junior Hillevi Eklow earned the win between the pipes turning aside two shots in the effort. Molloy's Jackie Carty recorded nine saves on the afternoon.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7 when they host American Int'l. The contest will start at 12 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park with a Senior Day ceremony occurring beforehand.
