BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU Post women's volleyball team swept East Coast Conference opponent Daemen, 3-0, at the Pratt Recreation Center on Sunday.
The first set saw a 25 -19 Pioneer victory, highlighted by four
Giulia Genna (Rome, Italy) service aces in an eight-point run for the green and gold. The second session ended with a 27-25 LIU Post win, while the third set concluded with a 25-22 final.
Senior
Danielle Valenza (Hauppague, N.Y.) and junior
Rachel Londot (Utica, Ohio) recorded 13 and 10 kills, respectively. The pair also combined for 26 digs, as Valenza tallied nine and Londot earned 17. Genna boasted 17 assists, while
Kassie Akouri-Tejedor (North Miami Beach, Fla.) picked up 15 assists on the day. Collectively, the Pioneers recorded a .237 hitting percentage.
