Poughkeepsie, NY -  The LIU Post women's fencing team traveled to Vassar College for the 2017 Matt Lampell Hudson River Invitational in Walker Field House on Sunday.

 The Pioneers opened the day with a 16-11 win over RIT and went on to defeat Yeshiva University 19-9. The Pioneers lost a tightly-contested match to host Vassar College, 16-11, before losing to eventual champion Drew University 19-8. After a tough loss to West Point, LIU post finished the day with a 14-12 loss to Queens College.

The LIU Post epee team was very strong on Sunday, led by Kirstan Shaw, who went a perfect 10-0 on the day. Squad mate Chantelle Duncan posted a 16-2 mark in Epee.

The Pioneers will get a weekend off before heading to the road again on Dec. 2 when they travel to Madison University for the Drew Invitational.
