Lakewood, NJ| Senior Sasha Patterson tallied her second-straight double-double netting 12 points with a team-high 13 rebounds to lead the LIU Post women's basketball team to a 75-70 victory over Georgian Court University on Tuesday evening. Sophomore Mikaiya Moore added a team-best 17 points and junior Shannon Doyle matched a career-best 16 points and collected five boards and three steals.

LIU Post trailed the entire first half and began the second quarter with a two-point deficit. The Pioneers led by as many as six points but a 13-5 run gave the GCU a two-point advantage (40-38), but the guests clung to a 42-41 lead at the intermission.

The Pioneers opened the third with eight quick points and they later extended their lead to double-digits on three different occasions.

Despite having the game's largest lead, the Lions, down by 17 (70-53), with 7:32 left to play, sparked a 15-2 run to trail to just four points.

The Lions, down by six (74-68), had the opportunity to shrink the Pioneers' lead when GCU reached the charity stripe in the final :23 seconds. Mikaiya Moore then converted a free throw attempt to seal the 75-70 win.
