Lakewood, NJ| Senior Sasha Patterson tallied her second-straight double-double netting 12 points with a team-high 13 rebounds to lead the LIU Post women's basketball team to a 75-70 victory over Georgian Court University on Tuesday evening. Sophomore Mikaiya Moore added a team-best 17 points and junior Shannon Doyle matched a career-best 16 points and collected five boards and three steals.

Turning Point

• A 23-8 Pioneers run spanning the entire third quarter gave LIU Post a 65-49 lead which they wouldn't relinquish. Georgian Court pulled within four with 2:19 to play before a pair of free throws solidified the Pioneers victory.

How it Happened

• LIU Post trailed the entire first half and began the second quarter with a two-point deficit.  The Pioneers led by as many as six points but a 13-5 run gave the GCU a two-point advantage (40-38), but the guests clung to a 42-41 lead at the intermission.

• The Pioneers opened the third with eight quick points and they later extended their lead to double-digits on three different occasions.

• Despite having the game's largest lead, the Lions, down by 17 (70-53), with 7:32 left to play, sparked a 15-2 run to trail to just four points.

• The Lions, down by six (74-68), had the opportunity to shrink the Pioneers' lead when GCU reached the charity stripe in the final :23 seconds. Mikaiya Moore then converted a free throw attempt to seal the 75-70 win.

• Mikaiya Moore matched a game-high 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting with five rebounds

• Shannon Doyle matched her career-high in points and led the game in steals with three.

• Sasha Patterson was the third Pioneer to reach a double-digit tally and collected her second double-double in as many games. .

• The Pioneers shot 58 percent (10-17) in the second quarter and finished 38 percent (24-63) for the contest. The Lions hed the advantage in shooting finishing at 42.4 percent (25-59).

• The Lions had the advantage in points in the paint with 26 compared to LIU Post's 12.

• The Lions bench outscored the Pioneers 32- 22.

• LIU Post forced 19 GCU turnovers and converted them into 20 points, while GCU managed 21 points on 19 Pioneers miscues.
