Wrestling Competes Well at Journeymen Collegiate Classic

Troy, NY| The LIU Post Wrestling team continue its weekend action on Sunday when members of the squad returned to the mats for the Journeymen Collegiate Classic. The Pioneers performed well on the afternoon, posting several victories over NCAA Division I and III opposition.
 
LIU Post posted several place finishers on the afternoon. Highlighting the action was LIU Post's duo of 149-pounder Joseph Calderon and 157 pounder T.J. Fabian. Both grapplers posted undefeated records on the day to take the championship in their respective pools.
 
LIU Post's 174-pound entrant, Dan Arkow turned in a solid outing with a pair of victories. He bested The Citadel's Michael Lopouchanski, while he followed that with a 12-2 decision over Nolan Viens of Castleton. He settled for second place in his pool after falling in the championship bout to Kent State's Lane Hinkle.
 
Also picking up a pair of victories on the day was 184-pounder Dan McClure. McClure dropped a first-match decision to American grapplers Abraham Correa-Medina, but bounced back with a pair of back-to-back wins to place in third in his round.

 LIU Post returns to action on Sunday, November 19, when it heads to East Hill to take part in the New York State Collegiate Championships, hosted by Cornell. Action is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
