Men's Soccer Named United Soccer Coaches' Regional Coaching Staff of the Year

Kansas City, Mo |United Soccer Coaches announced on Tuesday this year's Regional Staff of the Year winners for NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III men's soccer programs, and amongst the winners was Andreas Lindberg.

Lindberg, who was named ECC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in seven years, picked up his third United Soccer Coaches' East Regional Staff of the Year award in four years. Adding on to his already impressive resume, Lindberg, the program's winningest coach, led the Pioneers men's soccer squad (17-0-2) finished the season with an 8-0-1 ECC record earning the top-seed in the tournament and picked up back-to-back shutout victories to claim its third-straight Conference Title. After earning the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Championship Tournament, the Pioneers bypassed the first round, earning an automatic bid into the second round, where they faced UDC for the third time this season and came up on top 2-1.  After taking down Adelphi, the men's soccer team captured its third east region title in four years.

Each of the 24 coaching staffs receiving Regional Staff of the Year recognition will be honored at the College Coaches Awards Reception on January 18, 2018 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Independence Ballroom in conjunction with the 71st annual United Soccer Coaches Convention.

In addition, the Regional Staff of the Year recipients will be placed on the United Soccer Coaches ballot for National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA division. The ballot will also include the addition of coaching staffs from any schools which advance to the semifinals of their NCAA Championship.

Voting for National Staff of the Year will begin on December 5 and end on December 12. United Soccer Coaches will announce the Men's and Women's National Staff of the Year for all NCAA divisions on December 19.
