Brookville, NY| The LIU Post women's volleyball team earned its fourth-straight victory in a 3-0 sweep over Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Pioneers improve to 25-4 (9-2 ECC) on the year as the Red Hawks slip to 2-28 (2-10 ECC).
A 5-0 run at the end of the first set saw the hosts onto a 25-14 victory in the match's opening frame, and they'd maintain that momentum early in the second, building an 8-3 advantage.
The Pioneers would later pull ahead 17-11 and go up by as many as 11 points (24-13). Lauren Kloos delivered the set's final kill as LIU Post earned a 25-15 win to go up 2-0 in the match.
Tight through half of the third, the Pioneers held the one-point advantage (9-8), but would go up 24-14 in the later stages of the frame. Roberts Wesleyan rallied for three-straight points but an Elise Strange kill clinched the set (25-17) and the sweep (3-0).
LIU Post's attack was led by
Danielle Valenza, who collected a game-best 13 kills.
Rachel Londot and Kristin Bendy contributed to 11 and five kill, respectively.
Indira Rojas led all players with 13 digs and Kassie Akouri-Tejedor dished out a game-high 33 digs.
