Bridgeport, NY| Junior Rachel Londot recorded a game-and career-high 22 kills at the LIU Post women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over ECC rival University of Bridgeport inside Hubbell Gym on Tuesday evening.

With the win, the Pioneers improve to 27-4 (11-2 ECC) as the Purple Knights slide to 12-14 (8-5 ECC).

Londot collected seven digs and three aces as Danielle Valenza went for 12 kills and eight blocks. Kassie Akouri-Tejedor was credited with a season-high 47 assists.

LIU Post jumped to an 8-3 lead in the first set, but the Purple Knights cut their deficit to one (20-19) after a 4-0 run. Bridgeport kill brought the score 23-22 in favor of the hosts but the Pioneers rallied back and earned the final two points to take the first set 25-22.

The second set saw LIU Post pull ahead 7-5, but a 14-8 run by Bridgeport put the Purple Knights up 19-15 before taking the frame by a 25-16 score line.

Against the run of play LIU Post jumped out to an 11-8 lead in the third before jumping to a five-point lead (20-15). The Purple Knights pulled within two (22-20) but the Pioneers used a 3-0 to claim the 25-20 third-set victory.

Bridgeport opened the fourth set with a 5-1 run, but the Pioneers rallied off five of the match's next six points to close their gap to one (7-6). With the match knotted up 18-18, LIU Post used a 3-0 run to go ahead with the 21-19 lead. The two teams rallied off back-to-back 3-0 runs with Bridgeport tying the set 25-25. With the game up for grabs, Rachel Londot tallied her 21st and 22nd kill of the game to clinch the 25-15 set and 3-1 match win.

In a match that saw LIU Post collect 53 kills, the guest held advantages in kills (53-49) and assists (52-48).
