BROOKVILLE, NY| Lukas Ostermann of the LIU Post men's soccer team has been named to the D2CCA Men's Soccer All-America Second Team as announced by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association on Friday afternoon.
Ostermann, a first-year member of the Pioneers, helped LIU Post to its third-straight ECC Championship.
The ECC Rookie of the Year received Second-Team nods after an impressive rookie campaign. The center forward is top-ten in the nation with 17 goals, compiled six assists, and is sixth in the nation with 40 points on the year. Ostermann's rookie season culminated with six goals over the Pioneers' final two regular season games, earning him the United Soccer Coaches Division II National Player of the Week honor.
Additionally, Johan Maurtizson appeared as an honorable mention on the D2CCA list.
Maurtizson, the ECC Defensive Player of the Year, receives All-East First-Team nods for his efforts on defense. The center back captained a back-line that ranks second in the ECC with 15 goals allowed and 0.86 goals against average. Mauritzson's performance also helped LIU Post shut out seven opponents on the season, two of which came in back-to-back victories in the East Coast Conference Championship.
