Brookville, NY| The LIU Post women's basketball team used a late-game push to top ECC rival University of Bridgeport, 68-61, in the teams' conference opener on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Mikaiya Moore tallied a team-best 17 points and went 7-for-10 from the charity stripe.

Shannon Doyle went for 14 points and two rebounds, and sophomore Dominique Williams (4-for-5 FG) scored nine points.
LIU Post jumped to a 9-2 lead five minutes into the contest, Bridgeport answered back with a 12-6 run to cut its deficit to one (15-14).
After falling behind 16-15 1:17 into the second frame, LIU Post compiled a 10-4 run to go up 25-20 with 2:36 left in the first half before taking a 30-26 lead into the break.
Midway through the third frame, the Pioneers took a double-digit lead over Bridgeport (42-32), but the Purple Knights retaliated with a 10-2 tally to pull within two (44-42).
With 6:37 to play in regulation LIU Post extended its lead to seven (56-49). Bridgeport once again pulled within a basket of the Pioneers (63-61), with 1:08 to play, but LIU responded, outpacing the guests over the game's final minute en route to a 68-61 victory.
LIU Post shot just 32.8 % from the field but scored half of its baskets from the free throw line and shot 76.9% (20-26) from the line.
