Final Team Results
MINEOLA, N.Y. (Feb. 27, 2017) - Over the weekend, the LIU Post women's bowling team finished fifth at the Molloy College Invitational at Sheridan Lanes in Mineola.
The Pioneers posted a 6-4 record at the two-day tournament, en route to improving to 8-20 overall. The green and gold eclipsed a team score of 800 in four of their five victories.
Their six wins came against Kutztown (881-819), Saint Peter's (823-816), New Jersey City (754-704), Adelphi (894-861), Daemen (787-786) and at the bye.
Sophomore
Emily McLaughlin (Seaford, N.Y.) earned All-Tournament honors for her performance. She boasted an 18.5 average pinball on Day Two, which was second-best amongst all bowlers.
In addition, McLaughlin, who anchored a high game of 230 against Adelphi, led the green and gold with a total pinfall of 926 on the tournament's final day.
Freshman
Brielle Spillett (Yaphank, N.Y.) recorded a total pinfall of 857, while senior
Stefania Cuomo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) bowled a 796 series. Freshmen
Alexis Kosakavich (Plainview, N.Y.) and
Vickie Lewis (Patchogue, N.Y.) had total pinfalls of 726 and 717, respectively.
Head Coach
Edward Raven and the Pioneers are back in action this weekend (Mar. 3-5), when they compete at the Hawk Flight Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
