MEDFORD, N.Y. (Mar. 27, 2017) - On Sunday, the LIU Post equestrian team had five different riders claim a first-place ribbon at the Regional Show, hosted at Country Farms in Medford.
Junior
Mallory Slack (East Islip, N.Y.) won her class in the intermediate flat and intermediate fences. Fellow junior
Sara Peterson (Huntington, N.Y.) came in first in the walk-trot.
Senior
Alex Rand (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) placed first in the open flat and third in the open fences. Sophomore
Chloe Hoerner (Brightwaters, N.Y.) finished first in the novice flat.
Sophomore
Jessica Sulkers (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) took second in the intermediate fences and third in the open flat.
Freshman
Gianna Perry (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) had a second-place ride in the walk-trot-canter. Sophomore
Vanessa Finazzo (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman
Alex Daskam (Southbury, Conn.) earned a third- and fifth-place ribbon in the novice flat, respectively.
Lastly, junior
Heather Grova (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) contributed a fifth-place finish in the intermediate fences and an eighth-place showing in the intermediate flat.

Brooke Chasin and the Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Apr. 9, when they compete at the Zone Championships, hosted by Skidmore College at the Van Lennep Riding Center in Saratoga Springs.
