EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Mar. 7, 2017) - Over the weekend, the LIU Post women's bowling team took to the lanes at the Hawk Flight Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University at King Pin Bowling in Egg Harbor Township.
Sophomore
Emily McLaughlin (Seaford, N.Y.) led the Pioneers (9-32) in the Baker format, averaging a 181.6 at the three-day tournament. She struck on 33.7 percent of her tries and had just 19 open frames.
In addition, McLaughlin recorded a team-high 1,044 series (208.8 average) on the tournament's first day. She threw 28 strikes in 79 attempts, which translates to a 35.4 success rate.
Freshman
Brielle Spillett (Yaphank, N.Y.) bowled an 806 series on Saturday, en route to posting a three-day average of 164.3. Fellow freshman
Alexis Kosakavich (Plainview, N.Y.) averaged a 164.3 at the tournament.
Meanwhile, freshman
Vickie Lewis (Patchogue, N.Y.), who averaged a 133.7,
had a filled frame rate of 58.0 percent. Senior
Stefania Cuomo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) filled her frames at a 50.0 percent clip and averaged a 141.3.

Edward Raven and his LIU Post squad are back in action on Friday, Mar. 24, when they compete at the 2017 East Coast Conference Championships at Yankee Lanes in Keene, N.H.
