SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (Apr. 10, 2017) - The LIU Post equestrian team competed Saturday at the Zone Championships, hosted by Skidmore College at the Van Lennep Riding Center in Saratoga Springs.
Junior
Mallory Slack (East Islip, N.Y.) led the way for the Pioneers with a second-place ride in the individual intermediate fences. Slack's finish also qualified her for the national show in her class.
Sophomore
Chloe Hoerner (Brightwaters, N.Y.) took third in the individual novice flat and fourth in the team intermediate fences. Sophomore
Jessica Sulkers (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) was fourth in the team open fences and team intermediate fences.
Sophomore
Alexandra Blach (East Williston, N.Y.) earned a third-place ribbon in the team walk-trot-canter. Freshman
Alex Daskam (Southbury, Conn.) rode to fourth-place showings in the team novice fences and intermediate flat.
Freshman
Nicolette Signorelli (Bellmore, N.Y.) came in fourth in the team novice flat, while junior
Shannon Wright (Valley Stream, N.Y.) placed fifth in the team walk-trot. Junior
Sara Peterson (East Islip, N.Y.) was seventh in the individual walk-trot.
Lastly, senior
Alex Rand (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished fourth in the Cacchione Cup competition and added a fifth-place performance in the team open flat.
