Women's Tennis Falls to Wilmington in 2016-17 Finale, 7-2

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 15, 2017) - On Saturday, the LIU Post women's tennis team capped off its 2016-17 season with a 7-2 loss to Wilmington University at the LIU Post Tennis Courts in Brookville.
With the loss, the Pioneers wrapped up the year at 6-5 overall. Meanwhile, the Wildcats improved to a record of 10-6.
In doubles play, sophomores
Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and
Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) earned an 8-3 victory over Anushka Sathe (Pune, India) and Laura Gil (Sabinanigo, Spain) at the No. 1 position.
Meanwhile, in singles, fellow sophomore
Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) won in straight sets at the top flight, defeating Sathe by 6-4 and 6-2 counts.
In No. 3 singles, Klymova took the opening set off Gil, but dropped the next two in an eventual 6-3, 4-6, 1-10 loss.
