Football Cracks Top-10 in Latest AFCA Coaches' Poll

WACO, Texas – After opening the season with a 42-13 rout of Virginia Union, the LIU Post football team has cracked the top-10 in the latest American Football Coaches' Association Division II Top-25 Poll, released Monday.
 
The Pioneers (1-0) received 486 points, rising four spots to No. 10 after sitting at 14 last week. 
 
Northwest Missouri St. held onto the top spot on the ranking, receiving a whopping 850 points.
Rounding out the Top-5 are Ferris St. (Mich.), Texas A&M-Commerce, Shepherd (W.Va.), and California (Pa.).
 
Fellow Northeast-10 opponent Assumption grabbed eight votes. LIU Post and the Greyhounds are set to faceoff on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
 
Head Coach Bryan Collins and the Pioneers return to action Saturday, Sept. 9, when they head to West Haven, Conn. to face New Haven in the NE-10 opener. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
