BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Roberts Wesleyan College in East Coast Conference action on Friday, Oct. 12 at the LIU Post Tennis Courts.
The Pioneers drop to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in ECC play while the Redhawks improve to 7-3 and 3-1 in conference action.
Roberts Wesleyan got off to a hot start by sweeping doubles action to earn the matches' first point. Senior
Shanice Arthur earned the lone Pioneer point by defeating Nthabi Mogopodi, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore
Veronika Koudelkova dropped a narrow decision during the opening game against Andrea Gallardo at No. 2 singles before falling 6-0 in game two. Classmate
Christina Jud also suffered a tough loss in her opening game against Bijisha Shrestha, 7-5. Shrestha took the second game 6-2 to earn the victory for Roberts Wesleyan.
The Green and Gold wrap up its regular season schedule at the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2:00 p.m.
