SELDEN, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's equestrian team continued its winning streak at the Stony Brook University Horse Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center Sunday. The Pioneers won high point team for the third-straight week.
 
Sophomore Savannah Giardina won both her novice classes awarding her the title. Freshmen Grace Titus, Kara Bromschwig and Jackie Davis along with sophomore Hedda Walltott all tied for reserve high point rider after finishing in first and second place in their respective classes. In a tie-breaker, Titus won the title.
 
Junior Gianna Perry qualified for regionals after finishing third in novice flat. Junior Nicole Sinram also qualified herself after her first-place finish in novice fences. Junior Sam Ayala qualified after finishing third in intermediate flat. Lastly, sophomore Mackenzie Ashe pointed out and qualified for regionals in fences and won her flat class.
 
The day started off with open fences with sophomore Nicole Palmer and senior Chloe Hoerner placing second in their respective sections and junior Ava Greenbaum finishing third. In flat, senior Mallory Slack and freshman Miko McGovern took home the first-place finishes with Hoerner and junior Alex Daskam placing second and Jenna Skaferowsky and senior Jessica Sulkers placing third. Slack qualified for regionals in the open division; she was the first and so far only person in the region to do so.
 
Intermediate fences continued to go well with Walltott winning alongside Bromschwig with Titus in second and junior Kate Galvin finishing third in flat and fences. Walltott also placed second.
 
The Pioneer novice riders performed strongly in their sections. Giardina, sophomore Ashton Guilfoile and Sinram finished first. Titus, Nicole Shneyder, Abby Panza and GIardina all won their flat sections with Bromschwig in second. Kassidy Scheuring and Perry finished third.
 
The Pioneer underclassmen continued their success. Freshman Ava Lazarus finished first in walk/trot/canter and freshman Lauren Windsor finished third. Sophomore Sarah Wung closed out the day with a win in her walk/trot class.

The girls continue their season next weekend at Thomas' School of Horsemanship hosted by Molloy College.
