MELVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's equestrian team finished as the high point team at the Molloy College Show Sunday at the Thomas School of Horsemanship.
 
Freshman Jackie Davis and sophomore Savannah Giardina topped their classes for the day after winning both their novice classes. In the tie-breaker Davis won reserve high point rider while senior Trina Aspenleiter and sophomore Mackenzie Ashe also qualified for regionals in their respective classes.
 
The show started with open fences with senior Jessica Sulkers and sophomore Nicole Palmer winning their respective sections; Sulkers finished second on the flat and Palmer finished third. Senior Mallory Slack also finished first and second in her respective open sections.
 
Intermediate fences was a large class and junior Cara Sappelsa took home the top honors while freshman Miko McGovern finished second. On the flat sophomore Hedda Walltott and Ashe finished second, while junior Nicole Costanza and senior Vanessa Finazzo finished third.
 
Novice finished with Davis and Giardina topping the division. Freshman Abby Panza also placed first over fences and sophomore Ashton Guilfoile placed second. Freshmen Kara Bromschwig and Grace Titus placed first on the flat while freshman Olivia Butler finished third on the flat.
 
LIU Post closed the day out on a high note with freshman Ava Lazarus finishing second in walk/trot/canter and freshman Lauren Windsor finishing third.
