BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman Margaret McKeever of the LIU Post women's cross country team is set to compete at the NCAA Division II East Region Cross Country Championship tomorrow in Farmingdale, New York. The meet is hosted by Adelphi University.
 
The 6K race is set to begin at 1:15 p.m. at Bethpage State Park. Should McKeever finish inside the top-20 she will advance to NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, which take place on Dec. 1 at Schenley Park, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
 
McKeever has had a standout freshman year for the Pioneers and was named All-East Coast Conference Second-Team after clocking in at 20:06.8 seconds to finish 12^th in the 5K at the ECC Championships on Nov. 3.
 
 She has been honored with weekly awards on two different occasions; ECC Runner of the Week on Sept. 17 and ECC Rookie of the Week on Oct. 9.
 
She was the top non-division I finisher and placed seventh overall in the 5K on Sept. 15 at the New York Institute of Technology Invitational and also placed third in the 3.5K at the LIU Post Invitational on Sept. 22
