YAPHANK, N.Y. - The winning streak continued for the LIU Post women's equestrian team this weekend at the Hofstra University/Suffolk hosted show at Country Farms as the Pioneers finished as the high point team Sunday.
 
Four Pioneers tied for high point rider after winning both their respective classes; these riders included sophomore Nicole Palmer, freshman Jackie Davis, freshman Kara Bromschwig and sophomore Hedda Walltott. Junior Nicole Costanza also qualified herself for regionals in intermediate flat after finishing third in her class.
 
The day began on a high note for LIU Post; in open jumping junior Sam Ayala and Palmer topped their sections and sophomore Jenna Skaferowsky finished second. Freshman Miko McGovern and Palmer won their flat phase with junior Alex Daskam finishing second and Ayala in third.
 
Intermediate then began with Bromscwig topping the class alongside Walltott. Freshman Grace Titus finished third and Daskam and junior Kate Galvin also finished third. Walltott topped the flat phase with junior Cara Sappelsa in second and Galvin also in third.
 
Freshman Katherine Garcia, freshman Olivia Butler and freshman Jackie Davis all won their novice fences sections and sophomore Ashton Guilfoile finished third. On the flat, Bromschwig, Davis, sophomore Savannah Giardina and junior Kassidy Scheuring topped the class. Titus and freshman Mikayla Shipman finished second and Butler finished third.
 
Freshman Ava Lazarus won walk/trot/canter and freshman Lauren Windsor finished third. Sophomore Sarah Wung also won her walk/trot class.
 
Up Next
The Pioneers host its only home show and its last show of the fall on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the North Shore Equestrian Center. The show will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
