FULL REGIONAL RANKINGS
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Riding a five-game win streak, and a 14-1 mark in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, the NCAA ranked the LIU Post women's basketball team sixth in East Region in the first regional rankings of the 2017-18 season as announced Feb. 14.
The ECC features three of the top-10 teams in the East Region, with St. Thomas Aquinas College taking the fourth spot, while Roberts Wesleyan College enters the rankings in the eighth spot.
LIU Post boasts the second-best scoring offense in the ECC, scoring 74 points per game, while also holding the largest rebounding margin at +4.3. Senior
Sasha Patterson adds has led the Pioneer efforts this season, tying for the top spot in the conference with 9.1 rebounds per game, while chipping in over 15 points per game, ranking fourth in the ECC.
The Pioneers have won their last five matchups, most recently downing the University of the District of Columbia 85-74 on Feb. 14, and have won 12 of their last 13 overall after starting the year 2-4. The Green and Gold have won the first matchup of the season against Roberts Wesleyan and St. Thomas Aquinas, with two matchups remaining over the final three contests during the regular season.
The Pioneers return to the Pratt Recreation Center for a huge battle with St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, Feb. 17 in what could prove to be a matchup to determine the number one seed in the ECC Tournament.
