Equestrian Finishes as High Point Team at Suffolk Community Show

MEDFORD, N.Y. - The LIU Post equestrian team finished as the high point team to continue its lead in the region at the Suffolk Community Show March 11.
 
Freshman Nicole Palmer also earned high point rider of the day after winning both her classes, qualifying her for regionals. Freshman Jenna Skaferowsky also qualified for regionals after winning the flat class.
 
Junior Jessica Sulkers began the day by earning second in her open flat. Senior Mallory Slack finished first over fences, while freshman Ava Greenbaum took second and senior Heather Grova placed third. The team continued its winning streak in the intermediate classes with the top three over fences placings going to freshman Nicole Palmer, sophomore Katie Galvin and freshman Taylor Ashe. Sophomore Alex Daskam also secured the second-place finish in the flat class. Sophomore Nicole Sinram won her novice fences class with freshman Hedda Walltott placing second. Sophomore Kassidy Scheuring started her career with the team with a first-place finish in novice flat along with Gianna Perry who also finished first in the "B" section of the flat class. Freshman Danielle Testagrose kept her winning streak going with her outstanding performance in her walk/trot/canter class. To finish the day, freshman Kaitlyn Seidl finished second in walk/trot along with freshman Sarah Wung who placed second in her team debut.
 
The Pioneers have one more regular show of the season next weekend and will look to keep their lead in the region to qualify for Zone finals on April 8.
