BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The offense was stymied for the LIU Post baseball team, as the Pioneers dropped game two of its four-game set with the University of Bridgeport on March 30, 7-2.
 
It was all Bridgeport from the fourth inning on, as the Purple Knights plated two runs in the fourth and a single run in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. Following two scoreless frames, Bridgeport put the game out of reach with a three-run spot in the top of the eighth inning. The Pioneers got one run back in their final two at-bats of the day, but it was too much to overcome as the Green and Gold dropped their second East Coast Conference matchup of the season.
 
Junior Joe Piscitelli and senior Rob Andreoli recorded the only multi-hit games for the Pioneers, racking up two hits apiece. Andreoli added the lone run batted and extra-base hit for the Pioneers.
 
On the mound Andrew Oswald earned the win for Bridgeport, tossing seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven batters. Sophomore Noah Lorenzo suffered his second loss of the season, allowing six runs over 7.1 innings of work.
 
The Pioneers will look to earn the series win tomorrow by taking both ends of a doubleheader against the Purple Knights, as the games will be held at the LIU Post baseball field, but LIU Post will be the away team for both contests. First pitch for game one is slated for 12:00 p.m.
