Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Queens, 17-2

Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. – The No. 7 LIU Post women's lacrosse team remained perfect in East Coast Conference play with a convincing 17-2 victory against Queens College April 18.
The Pioneers dominated throughout the entirety of the contest, holding a 29-15 edge in shots and a 15-5 advantage in draw controls. On the defensive end, the Green and Gold were a perfect 11-for-11 on clear attempts.
In goal, sophomore
Jill Hummel made a career-high eight saves on nine shots on goal during the second half, while senior
Olivia Kirk added two saves to earn the win.
Sophomore
Alyssa Mallery continued her strong play as of late, potting a game-high four goals, while classmates
Paige Sherlock and
Brianna Feldman tallied three goals each.
LIU Post jumped on the board with three goals during the opening five minutes before Queens found the back of the net at the 22:14 mark of the first half to make it 3-1. The Pioneers took over from there, however, scoring 14 unanswered goals and holding Queens scoreless for over 49 minutes to improve to 7-0 in league play.
The Green and Gold have a tough task ahead of them over the next seven days, as the Pioneers travel to the New York Institute of Technology for a 12:00 p.m. "Battle of the Boulevard" matchup with the No. 12/17 Bears before taking on No. 1/2 Lindenwood University at home April 25.
