LEXINGTON, Ky. – LIU Post women's volleyball head coach
Amanda Ostapow was recognized as one of the top young volleyball professionals in the country, as the American Volleyball Coaches Association tabbed her as a recipient of the 2018 Thirty Under 30 award April 5.
The Thirty Under 30 award began in 2009 and was created to honor thirty up-and-coming volleyball coaches under 30 years of age at all levels of the game. This includes all three NCAA divisions, high school, and club volleyball.
Ostapow completed her second season at LIU Post in 2017, leading the Pioneers to an appearance in the NCAA Division II East Regional and a 28-6 overall record. Through her first two seasons at the helm of the program, Ostapow has compiled 43 wins and a .694 winning percentage.
Outside of LIU Post, Ostapow served as an assistant coach at Dowling College for two seasons and has coached for the Long Island Volleyball Academy for four years, adding three years of club experience prior. Her teaching extends beyond the high school and college level, however, as Ostapow also serves as a intramural coach at Berner Middle School where she helps develop playing skills for sixth graders outside of her full-time position as a physical education teacher.
During her playing career, Ostapow was a three-year member of the LIU Post volleyball team, recording 2,329 assists to go with 202 kills, 552 digs and 97 blocks.
