Abbey Fortin added another accolade to their resumes this week when the National Fastpitch Coaches Association named them to the All-East Region Team.
The East Coast Conference Player of the Year, Fortin earned first-team accolades and Seader earned second-team honors.
Fortin had a breakout season as a sophomore, hitting over .400 on the season with a league-best 15 home runs and 56 runs batted in. The Canadian hit .438 in league play this year with eight homers and 30 RBIs. Fortin most recently was named the ECC Tournament Most Outstanding Player after hitting .454 during the championship with three home runs and four RBIs.
The junior catcher, Seader is hitting .378 on the season with 70 hits, six home runs, and 37 RBIs after transitioning into the leadoff hitter this season. Seader has reached base safely in 45 of the team's 52 games this season, ranking second to freshman
Breanna Klaiber for the team lead in with a .442 on-base percentage.
The duo is looking to lead the Pioneers to the NCAA Super Regional as the Green and Gold compete at the East Region Tournament this weekend at Adelphi University.
