LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named LIU Post freshman third baseman
Breanna Klaiber as one of eight finalists for the 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II Freshman of the Year award May 16.
Klaiber represents the East Region as the area's top freshman according to the NFCA. Below is the full list of finalists:

The Ironton, Ohio native earned East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year accolades earlier this season, ranking second on the team with a .385 batting average. For the season, Klaiber has compiled 65 hits with a team-best 15 doubles and driving in 38 runs. The freshman also leads the Pioneers with a .462 on-base percentage.
Klaiber and the rest of the Pioneers open NCAA Super Regional play at St. Anselm College Thursday, May 17 in a best-of-three series with the Hawks.
