FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's basketball team spent Saturday, Sept. 29 volunteering with AHRC Nassau, assisting adults with disabilities enjoy an afternoon of bowling at Farmingdale Lanes.
AHRC is a family governed organization committed to finding ways for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to build full lives as defined by each person and supported by dedicated families, staff, and community partners.
Members of the team interacted with and assisted participants throughout the day. The student-athletes were seen encouraging participants and showing support in a passionate and enthusiastic manner, helping to provide smiles to everyone involved with the event.

Deirdre Moore. "The young ladies made friendships, bonds, and left lasting impressions and memories. I'm proud of the enthusiasm they exhibited while volunteering their time to help other people."
