SELDEN, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's equestrian team continued its winning streak Sunday at the New York University/Princeton University Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center. The Pioneers won the region for the third-straight year and qualified for the Zone Championships as a team.
 
Freshman Jackie Davis, freshman Grace Titus and junior Kassidy Scheuring all finished as high point riders after winning both sections of their classes. Additionally, senior Mallory Slack was named Cacchione Cup Rider of the Year after earning the most points over fences and on the flat.
 
To start the day of showing, sophomore Mackenzie Ashe and sophomore Jenna Skaferowsky topped their sections of open over fences with senior Jessica Sulkers and senior Patricia Hesslon in second and junior Sam Ayala and senior Chloe Hoerner in third. Sulkers also won her flat section along with sophomore Nicole Palmer and freshman Miko McGovern. Junior Kate Galvin and senior Trina Aspenleiter finished second.
 
In intermediate over fences, Titus won her section with freshman Kara Bromschwig, junior Nicole Costanza and Galvin in second. Junior Cara Sappelsa and junior Nicole Sinram finished third.  On the flat portion, freshman Katherine Garcia and Titus won with Sinram in second and junior Gianna Perry in third.
 
Beginning to conclude the day in novice, Aspenleiter, freshman Jackie Davis, freshman Nicole Shneyder and Scheuring won the over fences sections. Sophomore Savannah Giardina finished second and Perry third. On the flat, Scheuring and Davis finished first and with freshman Olivia Butler second.  In walk/trot/canter freshman Lauren Windsor finished second and freshman Sarah Wung third.
 
On Sunday, March 31, the Pioneers compete at the Regional Show where riders compete individually for a spot at the Zone Championships. After today the following riders are qualified individually:
