LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association honored softball's
Julia Seader on Wednesday, earning Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week honors for Division II.
Seader hit .600 (21-for-35) at the plate with six home runs and 17 RBI during 10 games played. The senior backstop helped lead LIU Post to an 8-2 record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play. Seader recorded at least one hit in all 10 games with eight of those being multi-hit performances. In addition, Seader scored 13 times, slugged 1.229 and registered a .615 on-base percentage.
During a win against Queens, Seader connected for two homers while driving in four and scored twice. She added four RBI and three hits at American International College and also tallied three hits against the University of Bridgeport and Post University. Seader struck out just once in 39 plate appearances.
On the year, ranks sixth in Division II with 99 total bases, while also ranking in the top-25 in slugging percentage (0.825), home runs (11), hits (57), and batting average (.475). Seader leads the ECC in each respective category as well.
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday, April 11 to begin round two of ECC play when they host Mercy College at 2:30 p.m.
