Mike Stainkamp is in his third year as the Assistant Athletic Media Relations Director at LIU Post. He serves as the primary media contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s golf, women’s fencing, women’s basketball and baseball, as well as the secondary media contact for football, men’s basketball, wrestling, and men’s and women’s lacrosse.

He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
 
Stainkamp, a 2011 graduate of St. John's University, holds a plethora of journalistic experience. He worked for Baseball Player Magazine from 2009-11, and wrote for metroBASEBALL Magazine from 2010-2013, which is a quarterly publication focusing on amateur baseball in the Queens and Brooklyn areas. Plus, Stainkamp spent one year (2012) as a Social Media Coordinator for Major League Baseball Advanced Media.
 
Stainkamp received his master's degree in Journalism from Hofstra in December 2013.
