Adams Wins 400 to Lead LIU Post at ECAC/IC4A Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – Graduate student Stefan Adams captured another big victory in the 400-meter dash to lead a group of Pioneers at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton University and Rutgers University May 11-13.

Adams was the lone Division II winner at the championship conducted at the Bauer Track and Field Complex, competing against nearly all Division I runners. Adams bested LIU Brooklyn's Collin Sewell by 0.34 second during a cold and rain-soaked event. Freshman Destyn Harding performed well in the 100-meter dash, finishing third in his heat with a time of 11.03 seconds.

Harding also helped lead the Pioneers in the 4x100-meter relay, as the squad that also included senior Ramel Joseph and freshmen Jaelin Hood and Jahmel Johnson took second in their heat at 41.79 seconds.

At nearby Weaver Track & Field Stadium, sophomore Alexandria Okon and senior Talya Williams set new personal-bests in their respective events. Okon clocked a time of 2:16.08 in the 800-meter run, breaking her previous mark of 2:18.39 set at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championships. Williams finished the 1,500-meter run in 4:39.75, setting a new personal-best time by over three seconds.
