THE SEASON SO FAR 
The Pioneers have competed at four meets in the 2019 outdoor season, most recently at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 in Piscataway, New Jersey.
 
LIU Post's women throwers have been a bright a spot, as they have collected three of the four available ECC Field Athlete of the Week Awards. Junior Kaitlyn Klein earned the honor on Monday, March 25 while sophomore Alyssa Farrell was the honoree on Monday, April 1 and Monday, April 8.
 
Farrell has been outstanding for the Pioneers, collecting six top-six finishes so far including a second-place finish in the javelin at the Towson University Invitational on Friday, April 6 after a throw of 39.56 meters. Klein has also had a strong season, highlighted by a pair of first place finishes at the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, March 29. She won the shot put with a throw of 11.15 meters and the discus with a throw of 36.42 meters.
 
Junior Alexandria Okon has also been impressive for LIU Post as she finished inside the top-10 seven times during the outdoor season, including wins in the 400 meters (1:00.35) and the 4x400 meter relay (4:34.44) at the Wagner Invitational.
 
Freshman Margaret McKeever also performed at a high level in the distance events, earning three top-10 finishes including a third-place finish in the steeplechase (12:19.13) at the Monmouth Season Opener on Friday, March 29.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Destyn Harding has earned six top-10 finishes in the sprint events. At the Wagner Invite he placed first in the 100 meters (11.03), second in the 200 meters (23.02) and second in the 4x100 meters (45.03).
 
Freshman DeAndre Smith, the ECC Indoor Champion in the high jump and long jump, has earned four top-10 finishes in the jumps. He won the high jump (6'0.75'') and finished second in the long jump (20'4.25'') in the long jump at the Wagner Invite.

LAST TIME AT THE ECC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The LIU Post men's and women's track and field competed at the 2018 Outdoor ECC Championships at Williamsville South High School on Saturday hosted by Daemen College. Both the men's and women's teams took home third place out of six teams in the event.
 
The mens team earned 144 points from 22 performances behind St. Thomas Aquinas who finished in first with 213 and Roberts Wesleyan who came in second with 155.
 
In total, the Pioneers earned 12 first-place finishes; freshman Destyn Harding in the 100-meter dash, senior Stefan Adams in the 200 meters and 400 meters, freshman Jaelin Hood, Adams, freshman Yvans Oscar and senior Ramel Joseph in the 4x400 relay and freshman Angelo Fradelakis in the javelin.
 
On the women's side, senior Talya Williams won the 1500 and 500 meter runs and was part of the first-place finishing 4x800 meter relay team freshman Nataly Ramirez, sophomore Nicolette Agostinacchio and Okon, who also won the 800 meters. Klein won the shot put and discus while Farrell earned a first-place finish in the javelin.

The Pioneers will compete at the Pennsylvania University Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 25.
