BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2010)
– Senior forward Amanda Nann (Hamburg, N.J.) tallied three goals to lead sixth-ranked C.W. Post over Southern Connecticut State University, 4-1, in non-conference field hockey action Thursday afternoon on Hickox Field.  In addition, Nann also broke the school's career scoring record with 51 goals that was previously held by Amber Limanni. 
 
C.W. Post remains untouched with a 3-0 record while Southern Connecticut slips to 1-4.
 
The Pioneers outshot the Owls by a 32-5 count and held a 10-6 advantage in penalty corners.
 
C.W. Post took an early 1-0 lead courtesy of a goal from freshman forward Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) on a 10-yard pass from Nann. Nann scored her first goal at 16:59 on a rebound shot to put the host team ahead, 2-0.
 
The Owls cut the lead in half when sophomore midfielder Erica Fisher (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) scored out front on a right side pass from junior forward Ryan Morgan (Stafford Springs, Conn.)at 24:27.
 
That was as close as the Owls would get as Nann helped put the game out of reach with a pair of goals, including a goal at 28:26 from senior midfielder Vicky DeRosa (Wading River, N.Y.) and another at 40:24 with senior forward Amy Lillis (Holtsville, N.Y.) assisting.
 
Senior goalkeeper Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) made one stop in goal to earn her second win in the cage. Her counterpart, Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.), was busy in goal, making 15 saves.
 
C.W. Post returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 19 when it hosts Mansfield University at 12 p.m. on Hickox Field.
