Women's Tennis Falls at Queens, 9-0

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 18, 2014) - The LIU Post women's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end Saturday, as it fell to Queens, 9-0, in East Coast Conference action.

Junior Didi Fatchikova (Sofia, Bulgaria) lost her top-flight singles tilt to Jenna Plevako, 6-4, 6-4. This marks Fatchikova's first singles defeat this season. At No. 2 singles, sophomore Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) lost to Sumeera Kamil in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. The pair teamed up for doubles competition, but dropped an 8-3 decision to the Knights' (8-1, 6-1 ECC) No. 1 tandem Angelika Sobiecka and Camelia Abdallah.  

Head Coach Darrel Bielawski and the Pioneers (7-3, 5-2 ECC) are back in action Monday (Oct. 20), when they round out the 2014 regular season at league front-runner NYIT in Old Westbury, N.Y. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
