NEW ORLEANS, La. (Oct. 22, 2014) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post women's cross country team climbed three spots to fifth in the USTFCCCA Division II East Region Poll. It is the Pioneers' highest ranking since placing third last season.
Roberts Wesleyan and Stonehill continued to top the ledger for the third-consecutive week. St. Thomas Aquinas and Philadelphia U. stood pat in third and fourth, respectively.
In the latter half of the tally, Assumption (No. 6) and Southern New Hampshire (No. 8) each fell one notch, while Saint Michael's was sandwiched in at No. 7. Saint Anselm and Merrimack rounded it out.
The Pioneers are coming off a 10th-place showing last Saturday (Oct. 18) at the Princeton Invitational. Freshman
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) led the way with an eighth-place time of 22:59. Junior
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) clocked a 24:09 to finish 45th.
