CHANDLER, Ariz. (Dec. 15, 2014) - Three members of the LIU Post field hockey team have earned Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America first-team distinction for their standout 2014 campaigns, announced Monday afternoon.
Graduate defender
Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) merited a slot on the All-America first-team. The Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year anchored a strong Pioneer back line that surrendered just 24 goals on the season (seven shutouts). As well as being a vital component of a defensive unit that held the opposition to only 126 total shots through 22 contests, Crouse aided the green and gold attack with nine goals and eight assists.
Junior forward
Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) landed a spot on the first-team as well. Her prolific offensive efforts in 2014 helped LIU Post return to the NCAA Championship final, and win the Northeast-10 regular-season title. The NE-10 Player of the Year averaged a Division II-best 82 points this year, on 33 goals and 16 assists.
Senior forward
Lyn-Marie Wilson (Bridgetown, Barbados) was also awarded first team honors. Her 13 goals and 12 assists abetted the Pioneers to a Division II-leading 3.88 scoring average. The All-NE-10 first-team honoree boasted a 38-point output in 2014.
