CLEVELAND, Ohio (Dec. 29, 2014) - As the Pioneers were opening up their gifts under the Christmas tree, the LIU Post Department of Athletics stood pat in second in the final NACDA Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings of the fall championship season.
The Pioneers tacked on 25 more points to an already-impressive 294-point total, as a result of the football team's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in nearly a decade.
Now boasting 319 points, the green and gold sit only 54 points in back of Grand Valley State for the top spot in the poll. LIU Post was accompanied by just one other East Region program (Stonehill - No. 9) in the Top-10.
The Pioneers also hold a 204-point advantage on their closest opposition from the East Coast Conference. Roberts Wesleyan, which finished ninth at the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship, ranks 30th with 115 points.
The initial set of winter standings for the 2014-15 NACDA Division II Learfield Cup will be released mid-March. For the latest ledger, please click
