Women's Tennis Falls to Adelphi in 2014 Home Finale, 6-3

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2014) - On Tuesday afternoon, the LIU Post women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 6-3 result to non-conference rival Adelphi in its final home match of 2014.

Juniors Didi Fatchikova (Sofia, Bulgaria) and Lucie Chrastecka (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) continue to boast undefeated records at the respective No. 1 and No. 2 singles flights. Fatchikova topped Stefani Leniva, 5-7, 6-1 and 10-7, while Chrastecka defeated Charlotte Moreau, 7-5, 4-6 and 10-6. Additionally, the duo paired for No. 1 doubles, but lost the flight by an 8-5 score.

Reigning East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week Meagan Byrne (Deer Park, N.Y.) edged Adelphi's (8-1) Bianca Bernal in straight sets at the fifth-singles position, 6-4, 6-2. 

LIU Post (4-2) is back in action next Friday (Oct. 3), when they square off with Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
