CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2015) - Following a stellar debut campaign, LIU Post women's tennis freshman
Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) was selected as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year, the league announced Tuesday.
Arthur, who went 8-2 in singles in 2015, boasted the league's second-best winning percentage (.857) at the top flight, sporting a 6-1 record. That mark included an unblemished 4-0 mark in ECC regular-season matches.
Arthur, a four-time ECC Rookie of the Week honoree, compiled a ledger of 7-4 in doubles play, as well. She teamed up with junior
Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) for a 6-4 record at the No. 2 position.
Arthur and the Pioneers rounded out the fall portion of its 2015-16 slate at 6-6 overall and 4-3 against ECC opposition. They also reached the East Coast Conference Tournament for the third-consecutive year.
