Forgaard, Vistnes Earn CoSIDA Academic All-America Praise

AUSTIN, Texas (Nov. 23, 2015) - On Monday, a pair of LIU Post senior soccer players were named College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans.

LIU Post men's soccer senior forward Per Forgaard (Stavanger, Norway) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first team, while women's soccer senior forward Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) was named to the third team.

Forgaard wrapped up his career in Brookville with a second-straight NCAA Division II Men's Soccer East Region championship last Thursday (Nov. 19). The senior recorded 13 goals and 13 assists for a 39-point output this season. For his efforts on the field, he was named the East Coast Conference's Offensive Player of the Year and was named the ECC Championship's Most Outstanding Player for his showing as the Pioneers won the 2015 ECC championship. In the classroom, the business major has posted a 3.67 grade-point average.

Vistnes will graduate as the all-time leading goal and point scorer in LIU Post women's soccer history. The senior led the Pioneers to the second round of the 2015 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer championship for the second-straight year. Vistnes, a four-time All-ECC first-team selection, finished the season with 19 goals and eight assists for a total of 46 points. A business major as well, Vistnes has posted a 3.57 GPA.
