BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (May 20, 2015) - After reaching the ECC Championships in all 16 of its sponsored sports, the LIU Post Department of Athletics was awarded its third-consecutive East Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup Monday night at the league's awards banquet at the University of Bridgeport.
The Pioneers compiled an impressive mark of 108-41-2 in ECC play in 2014-15, translating to a .722 winning percentage. The green and gold won tournament championships in men's and women's lacrosse and hoisted regular-season titles in four sports (men's soccer, women's soccer, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse).
It is the fifth ECC Commissioner's Cup in
Bryan Collins'
(Sayville, N.Y.) tenure as Director of Athletics and Recreation at LIU Post. Overall, it is the Pioneers' sixth Cup win since it was established in 1994.
LIU Post amassed 98.25 points to top the standings, finishing six-and-a-half points ahead of Roberts Wesleyan (91.75).
