CLEVELAND, Ohio (Aug. 14, 2015) - On Thursday, the LIU Post Department of Athletics had 68 of its student-athletes receive the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, as announced by the Division 2 Athletic Directors' Association.
The Pioneers' 68 honorees topped the ECC and tied Saginaw Valley State for 10th-most in the nation. A record-total of 7,320 student-athletes, across 147 institutions, were recognized for the 2014-15 D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards.
To be eligible for the Academic Achievement Award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, completed two years of college study and have been a member of an intercollegiate team during his or her final academic year.
The LIU Post men's soccer program, recent recipients of the East Coast Conference's Academic Team of Excellence for a third-straight year, led the way with 15 selections. The Pioneers' football team was second with 10 names on the ledger.
